Team Glenn Howard to pass up Skins Game; opts for Challenge Round

Yesterday, it looked like Team Glenn Howard had no shot of finding their way into the Ontario Tankard. What a difference a day makes.

After their ouster in regional playdowns last weekend, the only chance the Howard rink had to gain entry into the Tankard was via the Challenge Round. Unfortunately, they were already scheduled to take part in the Pinty’s All-Star Curling Skins Game at the same time, creating a scheduling conflict.

It appears, however, they had a change of heart, bowing out of the Skins Game and entering the last chance Challenge Round.

But the question remains, was all of this really necessary? Couldn’t the Howard rink have earned points toward a spot in the Ontario Tankard from the various other events they’ve played in?
